The Challenge:
Our client in Arlington, VA, realized that their existing kitchen layout no longer met their needs in terms of functionality and design. The enclosed space felt restricted, and the layout was not optimized for modern, everyday use or efficient storage.
The Kitchen & Bath Masters Solution:
To resolve these issues, our design team initiated a comprehensive kitchen remodeling project that involved significant structural changes. We started by removing select walls and relocating both the plumbing and the stove to establish a more efficient and open layout. To maximize vertical space, we installed double-stacked cabinetry alongside floating shelves that provide both functional storage and an elegant display feature. A striking navy-toned backsplash tile was chosen to add contrast and depth to the design. Furthermore, we upgraded the ceiling lights to smart lighting systems, allowing the client to conveniently control the ambiance directly from their phone.
The Outcome:
By introducing a new design with a well-proportioned island, we significantly improved usability while achieving a cleaner, modern look. The island provides valuable extra counter space for daily practicality. Ultimately, opening up the space allowed the kitchen to seamlessly integrate with the living room, resulting in a beautifully bright and spacious open-concept layout.
